There are two parts to book design. Cover design and interior design. Unless you want to get into the business of doing both, leave it to the professionals. Cover designers use all kinds of software. Interior
designers use QUARK for the most part.

These aren’t exactly new, but they are rich of detail like HP and LOTR. His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. you say, isn’t that where they kill God? well, if it was so bad, why did it win so many awards? people are stupid.

My favorite fantasy story of all time is The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. He is always thought of as a horror writer, but I think his non-horror is his best work.

I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is:

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a “Readers’ Choice” list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.

Of these, “A Spell for Chameleon” has the most modern (teen) romance. Steinbeck and White have more traditional (tragic and Victorian) romance. Most of the others are largely bereft of romance, although in Vance, 1 of the 4 books included in the omnibus “Tales of the Dying Earth” has quite a bit of romance (the others 3 none)

I like both of Jim Butcher’s series:
Codex Alera which is basically abt a kingdom whose citizens have roots in magic and there is this one boy who has absolutely no skill but the series is about him. Its a great series, esp if you liked LOTR.
Dresden Files is a great series if you are into paranormal and stuff. The series is about the only wizard listed in the phonebook, Harry Dresden and his casefiles. Its an interesting one- funny and each book sort of leads to the next.

breaking dawn comes out in the fall of 08′ and let me tell you- these books are the best books in the wholeeeee universe!!

and they all fir your category- it is veryy romanitc, and there is fantasy and adventure and i guess you could call it magic too…
just try them!! that is if you havent already…because SO many people have read them these days coz they are just SO good!

The Gold of Exodus by Howard Blum is a true adventure and most interesting.

Halley’s Bible Handbook is great and although written long ago is still in print every year.

Willmington’s Book of Bible Lists is another I like.
